About Beatniks and Bling

The Beatnik, just as Bling, was used to typecast a whole movement of thinkers, writers, and artists. Beatniks were more than skinny dudes rockin turtleneck sweaters, berets and thick glasses. They were more then bongo playing pseudo-hippies. Emcees and Djs are also more than gold necklaces and baggy pants. They are more than lewd language and daft dance-moves. They are both, among other things, communities in which knowledge and opinions are transmitted vocally. They are, like the peeps that started this site, some real dudes that are just trying to be heard.
