So I thought I was done blogging for the night and then I saw this. Aziz Ansari is great on Parks & Recreation and has great stand up, that's why I'm so excited to watch him host the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Check out the promo, which features Diddy, Sarah Silverman and more, for the award show above. It's hilarious.
West coast representative, Blu, dropped this today. It has a nice melodic flow to it. The track is planned to be on his project, No York. Download and stream below.
Here's Jay Elec's newest track. The track features Diddy and is fire! Jay Elec is on top of his game right now and I love it. Download and stream below.
Jaydiohead and Mos Dub are two of my favorite mashup tapes. Here, Max Tannone, the mastermind behind both of those tapes, mixes Beastie Boys with Beastie Boys. Who knew mixing songs from the same artist could be so good? The tape also features the Max Tannone remix of "Too Many Rappers featuring Nas". Download and stream below. By the way, this tape isn't new, I just thought it was worth a post.
Here's another one of A-Trak's great electronic remixes. This time, he mixes Soulja Boy's "All The Way Turnt Up" and once again, it's fire. Stream and download below.
Here's Drake's new track off of his debut album, Thank Me Later (due June 15). The production is done by Kanye. I like Drake when he's rapping more than singing so this track doesn't appeal to me. Download and stream below.
Recently, Lu has been busy with his Steppin' Lasers Tour, featuring B.o.B., and getting his much anticipated album, Lasers, together. To my surprise, a snippet and a full track were released within the past week. In the past, Lu has gone on long rants, via his blog, about how messed up it is when his tracks get leaked. To respect one of my favorite artists, I'm only posting streams of the tracks below. Stream "Love Letter To The Beat feat. Alicia Keys" and the snippet of "Horn Synth feat. Pharrell" below. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Keep Beating,
Kerowack
Horn Synth (Snippet) -Lupe Fiasco feat. Pharrell

Shortly after dropping the first track from their upcoming mixtape, Pac Div released Don't Mention It in its entirety. Stream "Shine" and download the tape below. Track list after the jump
For those of you who don't know Theophilus London yet, dude is an up and coming rapper out of Brooklyn. Smooth flow and even smoother style, this guy is due to blow up in the coming months. Above is his new video for "Life Of A Lover".
As the release date for Distant Relatives quickly approaches, Nas and Damian are still going to work. They've embarked on their tour to promote the album and now are releasing videos. I've been ecstatic about this collabo project from the beginning and I can't wait for the release next month. Also, I'll be seeing them perform this Sunday (May 2) at Sunfest in West Palm Beach, FL. Check out the video of "As We Enter" above.
It’s 12am on a rainy Saturday night in D.C. and I’m watching two of my favorite MCs in the music business perform about 5 inches from my face.I’ve bonded with the girl standing next to me over the fact that we both know every lyric to every song (and even got to show our skills by singing into the mic).I’m convinced this night can’t get any better then all of a sudden I’m being pulled on stage by none other than Spank “[insert explicit]” Rock! This is the part where I think I’m going to wake up and my awesome night will be over except, that doesn’t happen.Apparently it’s not a dream and I’m actually dancing on stage with two of the biggest bad-asses ever.
This past Saturday (April 24th) the Rock and Roll Hotel was transformed from an average concert venue into an intense dance club.DJ Jackie O, Ninjasonik, Amanda Blank and guest star Spank Rock took the stage by storm, performing high energy, extremely vulgar, totally awesome sets.My love for this show is a little biased given that I’ve seen Spank Rock, Ninjasonik and Amanda Blank perform together three times in the past 9 months but they’re each so awesome that I just can’t resist.I’m like a crack-addict that keeps wanting more.Amanda Blank was the official headliner and is currently on tour promoting her debut album I Love You.If you are like me and love a good dance party then I highly suggest you catch any, or all, of the above artists in a city near you. Check pics from the show after the jump.
Nardwuar got a chance to catch up with Gregg Gillis, a.k.a. Girl Talk, while he was touring in Vancouver. A Nardwuar interview is always worth watching. Check out the interview above.
I've previously introduced Childish Gambino, rapper pseudonym for Community star Donald Glover. In addition to being a clever emcee, Glover is a pretty smooth with the tables. He goes by mc DJ and most recently he has released Illin-Noise! The Sufjan Stevens Remix Album. The tape is pretty fresh. Reworking the melodic Sufjan album, he gives Illinois some soul by sampling some basic house instruments. Listen to "tallest", mc DJ's reworking of "The Tallest Man, The Broadest Shoulders", and "zombies", his reworking of "They Are Night Zombies! They Are Neighbors! They Have Come Back from the Dead!",below. Also below, download link to the entire Illin-Noise! The Sufjan Stevens Remix Album below.
Ritchcraft has been dropping singles off of this tape in the past weeks. Here is the tape as a whole. Here's what he had to say about it:
"Mix Jazz and Jay-Z, with one of Jay's most notable albums, and you get The Big Band Blueprint (unfortunately I was not able to find an acapella for renegade, so that was left off the album)"
For all our DC peeps, hit up this awesome free event Sunday.
"On Sunday, April 25, Earth Day Network will organize a massive climate rally on The National Mall to demand Congress pass strong legislation. The Climate Rally will feature live music from Sting, John Legend, The Roots, Jimmy Cliff, Passion Pit, Bob Weir, Willie Colón, Joss Stone, Robert Randolph, Patrick Stump, Mavis Staples, Booker T,Honor Society and Tao Rodriguez-Seeger."
Brace yourself before you watch this. This song is one of the best on the new album, What Will We Be. However, this video is definitely not for the squeamish. What will Devendra think up next? He’s clearly concerned with pushing the envelope but the message he’s going with on this one is a little beyond me. Is he just into S&M? The world may never know. Still a perfect pick-me-up song, as long as your not picturing Devendra being whipped.
