After months of time and dedication, we - Kerowack and Ginsgood - have made the difficult decision to end BeatniksandBling.com. We would like to thank all of our fans who have encouraged us - through site visits as well as emails - to continue blogging over the last few months. We gurantee that this is not a final goodbye, but merely a moment of transition. In the future, the Beatniks' will continue to share the best in indie, hip hop and electronic and we hope you will continue to follow. Follow us on twitter @saeedbar and @mobarhoush.

So here's an extra special tape for July 4th weekend and the rest of the summer. DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mick Boogie put together some of their all time favorite summer jams. Check the 50-song-long tracklist after the jump. Download the tape below.
My friend DJ Mecc1 has been has been running a weekly hip hop podcast in which he mixes various genres of Hip Hop pretty nicely. This week he blends some 1920s European shiz with some Hip Hop featuring verses from Black Thought, Binary Star, Cannibal Ox, Yesuah Da Poed, and Wale Oyejide. The link below takes you to his website where you can download and stream the mix.
Here's a video of Chiddy Bang's "Sooner Or Later". The video was filmed by Chiddy himself in Nigeria. Make sure you watch it all the way through to get some funny moments of interview at the end.
Here's a remix of Janelle Monae's single off of The ArchAndroid. Bobby and Lu's flows are on point. Check out the video above. Download and stream the track below.
Peep the video to Uffie's single "ADD SUV" featuring Pharrell Williams. The track is off Uffie's debut album, Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans, which dropped a few weeks ago on Ed Banger Records.
Due to some complications, we have a bit of a substitution for this week's BLING AND BEATNIKS. Instead of giving you a mix of the best mashups/remixes, we are just going to introduce you to a mashup master duo. Slaptop is made of Luke Frisher and Evan Baker. Originally from the Bay Area, these dudes have been making music together in Ohio for year. You can download Slaptop's two albums, Stone Soup and Trail Spice, costfree at their site and listen to their exceptional album opener "Rockstar" below. Hope you enjoy.
OnCue has already spit over Dave Matthews Band and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now he's goingin on Death Cab For Cutie and I love it. Download and stream below.
A bit delayed, but definitely still worth the post. The Arcade Fire, who spontaneously released two songs a few weeks ago, have just released the tracklist for their upcoming album The Suburbs. Days before that, two additional tracks from the upcoming album (due August 3rd) were released via radio. Download the radio rips below and peep the full track list after the jump. And if you haven't put the pieces together yet, this album is going to be the BEES KNEES!!!
I admit I've been a bit MIA recently. I apologize, but I assure you that you neednt worry anymore, because the Gins is back. It is thus only appropriate that my first post feature something out of this world good. And I must say Tokyo Police Club's new album, Champs, is pretty super(galactic). Like a good wine, these dudes have aged excellently. A long way from the teenage power-chord angst that dominated A Lesson In Crime, Champs highlights TPC's lyrical and musical growth. Finally, it seems like these guys are fully comfortable in their own skins. As a result, I can't stress it enough - Champs is worth a long long listen! and definitely a purchase! Catch Tokyo Police Club on tour this summer and below, a version of "Wait Up (Boots of Danger)" remixed by tourmates Passion Pit.
After seeing a video of Cudi perform this live, I've been eagerly waiting for the song to drop. This is the first single off of Cudi's sophomore album, Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. Download and stream the track below.
Donnis, out of Atlanta, just dropped this tape today. I haven't listened to it but I noticed he goes in on La Roux's "In For The Kill" & Lupe's "I'm Beamin". Should be interesting to listen to. Download the tape below.
Is Broken Social Scene's next move a movie? This clip recenty released by the band itself depicts a guy-gets-the-girl-and-girl-wants-to-see-Broken-Social-Scene plot. The name is borrowed from the last work about the band, a book by Stuart Berman titled, "This Book is Broken". The book chronicled the band's progress and lives of its members but the movie doesn't seem to have as much to do with the actual band. What will it become? Watch the clip at the official site for the video:
Also announced by the band, their upcoming tour will feature the likes of the Sea and Cake, Here we Go Magic and others. Check out the dates for the movie and the upcoming tour with supporting bands after the jump.
This Big Sean track just dropped. It's produced by Don Cannon and will be on his upcoming mixtape, Finally Famous Vol. 3: B.I.G. (hosted by Don Cannon). Download and stream the track below.
Here's a track from Big Boi that dropped today. It's rumored to be on his upcoming album, Sir Lucious Leftfoot, due July 6. Download and stream the track below.
