HOWL: Donald Glover (Childish Gambino)

I'm sure many of you know the comedian Donald Glover from the hit show Community. Perhaps, even more of you recognize him as one of the youtube sensations in Derrick Comedy. Sadly, very few of you know him as Childish Gambino. Childish Gambino, Glover's hip hop persona, has already dropped two heated mixtapes: I AM JUST A RAPPER and I AM JUST A RAPPER 2. Unfortunately, the two mixtapes were never really picked up by the hip hop blogosphere. It's a shame because dude can rap. Gambino combines the grating flow and clever wordplay of weezy with the originality (read: hipsterness) of cudi. The tapes feature samples from indie favorites Grizzly Bear and Sleigh Bells. His next mixtape, Culdesac, is due later this year. But before that, Glover has a Comedy Central stand up special airing friday.
